COVID-19 Policy for the August 20, 2022 Region 11 Conference at Loyola Marymount
Updated as of July 9, 2022 and subject to change. SPJ/LA takes the health and wellbeing of its conference attendees seriously.
In hosting this event, we are following guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the state of California and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. We will continue to monitor state and local health orders for any changes that would require changes to this policy.
All in-person attendees must show proof of vaccination prior to the date of the conference. Click here for the appropriate form to submit your proof with your ticket purchase.
Masks will be required for attendees of panels and workshops. An exception will be made for panelists, to allow for clear communication. Panelists will be seated more than six feet away from the audience.
Masks will not be required at breakfast, the Mark of Excellence Awards luncheon or the closing mixer, where attendees will be eating and drinking. You should not attend the conference if you are experiencing or exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms. Click here for a list of symptoms from the CDC.
If you have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 within 14 days of the conference but remain asymptomatic, please test for COVID-19 at least 5 days after exposure and as close to the date of the conference as possible. If you test negative, there is no need to isolate, and you may attend the conference.
