The Society of Professional Journalists is hosting its regional conference on August 20, 2022 at Loyola Marymount University. The event will host multiple panel discussions and workshops along with SPJ Region 11’s Mark of Excellence Awards, honoring the best of student journalism.
One day jam-packed with insightful panels, topical workshops, leading industry voices and fun networking opportunities.
Join veteran reporters and up-and-coming new voices in broadcast, print and digital journalism as SPJ/LA hosts journalists from across California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii.
Your registration will support the power of local journalism and a free and fair press—continuing to shine a light on issues that matter to Southern California residents.

Be considerate and respectful of others, even when participating in spirited debate
Do not engage in any demeaning, discriminatory or harassing speech or behavior of any kind
Speak up if you see someone else being subjected to inappropriate behavior
Please reach out to an SPJ/LA volunteer or board member if you are being harassed or mistreated. Volunteers will be wearing badges to identify themselves, and you can also expect a response by emailing spjlosangeles@gmail.com.
If you feel threatened or in danger and do not see an SPJ/LA volunteer or board member nearby, please call 911 or Loyola campus security immediately. Campus security can be reached at 310-338-2893 or 222 from any campus landline phone.
Behavior that violates this Code of Conduct will not be tolerated. Any individual engaging in it will be subject to immediate expulsion from the conference at the sole discretion of SPJ/LA.
