Student Journalism in the Era of COVID-19

SPJ/LA panelists share experiences of getting the news out in a challenging year

The COVID-19 pandemic forced newsrooms around the nation to rethink how they gather and disseminate news. Student journalists at colleges and universities have confronted the same challenges.

The Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists will host the virtual panel “Student Journalists Pivot in the Wake of COVID-19,” with four college journalists discussing the hurdles they've faced in a year of lockdowns, distancing and online instruction.

The Feb. 23 event, held from 5 to 6 p.m., will feature:
